About Chris Ahoy, PMC Founder, President, and CEO

Christopher K. Ahoy is an Associate Vice President Emeritus, 1997-2010 Iowa State University, and APPA Emeritus 2010, APPA Fellow 2006, APPA President 2006-2007. Chris is an accommplished senior executive with more than 35 years of experience spanning the areas of system thinking, comprehensive facilities planning and management, and high performance management consulting.

Chris led his organization in receiving 87 accolades (1997-2010) including APPA's highest institutional award: the Award for Excellence in Facilities Management in 2003, only the 22nd time that award was given in the 92 years of the program's existence. In 2004 and 2006, they received the Leadership Commitment Award from IRPE for producing the maximum number of Baldrige examiners from any industry in the state of Iowa. Received the state Bronze-level award in 2004, the silver level in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008, and the coveted Gold level award in 2009 at the annual State of Iowa Governer's Excellence celebration, only the third one given to any entity in the state in the 10 years of the program's existence.

Chris has assisted several organizations locally, nationally, and internationally since 1997 in their quest to become the best. Examples: providing a situational analysis and recommendation for the University of Alaska Campus Facilities in 2009, and for the Office of Estates Development at the National University of Singapore in 2010.

Chris is an author, presenter, coach, and mentor. He has given keynote speeches, seminars, and lectures to a wide variety of organizations around the world. He has authored several books to aid organizations in their journeys to become world-class operations. Over the past several years, he has given much of his time to mentor international colleagues and college students.

Chris uses the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award's seven categories of management for building self-equity and organizational equity, the Balanced Scorecard Plus for metrics, Lean, and the Six Sigma principles and methodologies for process improvements.
